CERTIFICATIONS EXPLAINED
CFF, SWS, Something Duck Certified. These all sound great, but what do they actually mean? Can we trust these certifications as good for the environment? Any certification listed on this website is explained here for reporting transparency and for your own informed decision-making.
GLOBAL ORGANIC TEXTILE STANDARD
GOTS certification has four features:
1. Products must contain a minimum of 70% certified organic fibres; a product with the label grade grade 'organic' must contain a minimum of 95% certified organic fibres.
2. Processing and manufacturing must meet social and environmental criteria.
3. The standard covers the processing, manufacturing, packaging, labelling, trading and distribution of all textiles
4. On-site inspection and certification of processors, manufacturers and traders is performed by independent Third-Party GOTS accredited Certification Bodies.
